The Ministry of MSME has been actively executing the Credit Linked Capital Subsidy and Technology Upgradation Scheme to enhance the competitiveness of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
This initiative focuses on minimizing waste through Lean Manufacturing practices, facilitating design enhancements, raising awareness about Intellectual Property Rights, and implementing the Zero Defect Zero Effect Scheme.
Additionally, it aims to digitally empower MSMEs through the Digital MSME initiative, foster the untapped creativity of individuals, and encourage the adoption of cutting-edge technologies in manufacturing, as well as promote knowledge-based innovations through incubation programs throughout India.
Benefits:
The MSME Champions scheme has been established by the Standing Finance Committee through the integration of all six elements of the previous Technology Upgradation Scheme, covering a duration of five years from 2021-22 to 2025-26.
This initiative represents a comprehensive strategy aimed at unifying, synergizing, and converging various schemes and interventions towards a singular objective. The primary goal is to identify clusters and enterprises for the modernization of their processes, minimizing waste, enhancing business competitiveness, and promoting their reach and excellence on both national and global scales.
The new MSME Champions scheme comprises three components, which are detailed as follows:
1) MSME-Sustainable
2) MSME-Innovative (focused on Incubation, Intellectual Property Rights, and Design)
3) MSME-Competitive.
